Random Dillies

So... I've started Weight Watchers again along with [info]txvendetta. We are trying to get our respective husband and boyfriend going with it as well. That is proving harder than I thought. At least for me.

I weighed in this morning, after a week, and the scale tells me I have lost 11 pounds. Although I think I've lost, I don't think I've lost THAT much.

Amy and I signed up last Sunday, which is when we weighed ourself - That was in the evening. I weighed myself Monday morning (a week later), and I think that has put a bit of difference in the number. I plan to weigh myself again tonight and I think that will give me a more accurate number.

Nonetheless, I know I've lost a bit, and I am happy :)

I think John and I are going to Nac over the weekend. My Mom and Dad have been bugging me about when we're going down. I don't mind going home or visiting my parents, sisters, and brothers - I just don't fancy the 3 hour drive. I really look foward to relaxing on weekends... catching a movie, going out to dinner, and the like. I suppose the weekend in Nac COULD be relaxing. It would be a good chance to get some shopping done. MUAHAHA. Daddy needs a new plasma TV.

(That is a joke that John and I have going.. I've sort of mentioned it in a past entry about Daddy getting cheeskecake for other people to eat when we all know he really wants it. My Dad loves to get good deals. I remember when I was a teenager, he would come home with a new pair of shoes. He'd show me the brand name and "first class quality" of them.. and tell me the original price. I would then have to guess what he paid for them. But anyway.. I am getting away from the point. John and I always say that Daddy needs a new when we want him to buy something for us. Of course it's just a joke - I never ask him for anything like that.)

I went down to the "Gayborhood" with [info]tmonroe and [info]mysmokeymirror on Saturday night. That was... interesting. Well, we met a certain individual who kinda freaked me out a bit. I think that was probably the most interesting thing of the night.

I've decided that Buddies is my favorite place down there. It feels a lot more laid back and fun than any of the others. Maybe I am jumping to conclusions seeing that I've only been to 2 of the bars/clubs on Oak Lawn since I've lived in Dallas. I've been to all of them at one point in the past 6 years or so, though. Yeah, I like Buddies... (minus the country music, but sometimes.. even that is charming)

John and I saw Underworld: Evolution on Saturday. I liked it, for the most part. I thought the first was better, but the second - definitely entertaining. (Ugh I am sounding like John now) I was sorta lost throughout the first 1/3 of it, though. I hadn't seen the first movie in a while and forgot some of the details of the story line. All I do know is this: Kate Beckinsale is H*O*T!

I think we should change the work week to Monday - Thursday.

The end. For now.

There was a bar called Buddies in Boston as well.
It closed before I was able to go there, but it was housed in the same building as Buzz.

*disclaimer* I tend to have random knowledge of defunct Boston nightclubs.

Hmmm. I don't remember that place? Was it male, mixed or lesbian? Well, I only came to Boston in 2002 so it might have been before my time there? I had only been to the Machine/Ramrod and Campus on gay night. Oh and Hollywood (?) on girl night. And then there was something out in Somerville in Sullivan Square that lasted for like 3.5 seconds. I don't remember the name of that one.

This Buddies is a les-bean place. I like those a lot better. :)

I can't go to those places. They pick fights with me every time without fail.
the Buddies in Boston closed around 1990 or so. I have this disturbing knowledge of nightclub history. It was all male as I recall hearing.
I started going out in 91 to the Loft, and I couldn't get in anywhere else until 93.
Was the place in Somerville Toast? I think it's back now...

Oooh Toast. That might have been it. But for some reason I think they might have temporarily called it something else for a while. My memory is kinda flakey.
